Senior Frontend Software Engineer - Microsoft

We are looking for smart Frontend Engineers to come work with us on the Natural Languages Experiences (NLX) team based out of our state-of-the-art Microsoft campus in Dublin.The NLX team is responsible for Editor, the core feature which empowers our customers to write confidently and communicate their ideas clearly. Each time you write in Word, Outlook and many other apps and see a blue, red, or purple squiggle, our team created those experiences together with the language technology that powers them. We leverage traditional natural language processing (NLP), machine learning (ML) and neural techniques to power the writing assistance experience. We also have an Editor browser extension that brings that same intelligent writing assistance right across the web. We use Azure to scale our service-backed features to reach millions of concurrent users, across the world, 24/7.You can learn more about our NLX team in Dublin here: Microsoft Natural Language Experiences.We have multiple opportunities available across our Dublin Engineering Development Center and are looking for candidates who are curious to learn and grow with Microsoft Ireland.

As a Frontend Software Engineer on the Microsoft NLX team, you will:

• Work in a combined engineering organization to drive design, development, testing and release of web-based services that enhance the customer experience.
• Help evolve development guidelines, practices & principles for a world where client and services development & delivery is moving faster than ever.
• Adhere to and drive modern software engineering practices through design reviews.
• Design resilient, scalable, and easily maintainable software.
• Foster a data driven approach to everything we do.
• Gain a working understanding of Microsoft businesses and collaborate with mentors and leaders in order to contribute to cohesive, end-to-end experiences for our users.

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, or equivalent work experience.
• Industry experience designing, building, testing & shipping software.
• Experience with modern client-side/web technologies such as React, JavaScript, TypeScript, Webpack, Node.js or similar.
• Experience building libraries, SDKs, and other development platform components, preferably using JavaScript/TypeScript.
• Object-oriented design, coding, and testing patterns.
• Experience in building and evolving web applications and / or cloud services.
• Strong problem-solving skills and are comfortable in dealing with ambiguity.
• Ability to handle competing priorities in fast paced environment.
• An ability to perform at a high level in a fast paced, dynamic environment.
