Principal applied data science and data analysis lead – Microsoft Defender for IoT - Microsoft

Microsoft Defender for IoT protects IoT services, devices, and networks at global scale. Our products are used by corporates and governments worldwide to protect against hackers and nation state attacks. For this we collect and analyze signals from endless sources, analyzing them to create IoT inventory, risk assessment and detection. To support our growth, we are establishing a dedicated multi-discipline data organization combining data scientists, data analysts and data engineers working together to increase customer value.

We are looking for the right person to lead this newly founded team.

• Manage a multidisciplinary team accountable for delivering a first rate IoT device inventory by accurately predicting customers assets based on multiple signals
• Define tools, platforms and processes between research and engineering for getting the data, research it, develop classifiers, deploy, and tune.
• Hire, manage and train data scientists, analysts, and domain experts
• Research and implement both new ways to extend the “signals” and the algorithms that give them meaning

Qualifications

• 5+ years of work experience in data science, data engineering or data analysis
• 2+ years Experienced working in a cloud / SaaS based Software product delivering customer value with ML and big data analysis in real time
• 2+ years as people manager
• 2+ years’ experience in Cyber Security or Networking
• Bachelor in computer science or above, Machine Learning, Data Science, or equivalent technical fields. M.A / Ph.D an advantage
• Passionate about cyber security and protecting good guys from harm
• Leadership skills – ability to drive a vision, develop employees, listen to people and work as part of our leadership team
