You will be part of the Citus team which develops one of the most advanced distributed databases on the top of PostgreSQL and provides it as a service on Azure.

As a senior leader of the engineering team, you will be responsible for the following:

• Lead a team of engineers to build scalable features/scenarios
• Mentor and grow the engineers on your team.
• Design, implement and operate end-to-end product experiences. We expect you to lead the technical architecture, design & code reviews, and delivery of projects, interfacing with product management, design and other dependencies.
• Collaborate with product managers to layout and manage the feature execution and rollout plan
• Responsible for the quality of the features that ship to customers and for the live site when they are inproduction
• Make technology and design decisions to deliver performant experiences.
• Collaborate with your engineering peers to reuse code/stack components where applicable and feasible

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Engineering or Mathematics or Physics or IT related technical discipline or 7+ years of industry software engineering experience
• 7+ years of programming experience in Java OR C++ OR C# OR C OR object-oriented programming
• Management experience leading a high-performance engineering team
• Demonstrated ability to effectively lead and operate in cross-functional global organization
• Proficient in designing and developing distributed systems

Preferred Qualifications:

• Great communicator, able to analyze and clearly articulate complex issues and technologies understandably and engagingly.   
• Strong design and problem-solving skills, with a bias for designing at scale.
• Industry experience designing, developing and shipping high quality scalable software and services
• Strong design, implementation and testing skills
• Managed and native code development experience• Track record of delivering innovation and results, leadership and collaboration• Creates an inclusive and fun work environment where every employee engages effectively • Cares deeply about growing people, is an excellent coach, and acts as a role model

• Previous experience as engineering site leader is a plusExperience recruiting and growing engineering organization is a plus
