Group Product Manager - Microsoft

We’re looking for an experienced product leader to join our team as Group Product Manager for the Azure Cognitive Search. This is a rare opportunity to lead the discipline that owns the product definition for an Azure service that’s part of the Azure AI Platform group, operating at the intersection of AI, Information Retrieval and Cloud Services.

We’re looking for someone that brings a product-centric mindset, willing to learn from customers what an ideal product looks like, and ready to dream up the most innovative solutions in the search and information discovery space.

• Lead the product management team for the product
• As a member of the Cognitive Search leadership team, play a central role in defining product strategy and team culture
• Understand the industry landscape, competition, and customer needs, and use that knowledge to shape the best offering in the market
• Drive the product planning efforts with the product and program managers in the team
• Collaborate closely with the engineering team
• Partner with marketing, sales, support, and other functions across Microsoft to ensure everyone has what they need, from go to market activities to supporting existing customers

Required  Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree AND 8+ years experience in product/service/project/program management or software development OR equivalent experience.
• 3+ years as a people manager.
• Track record of successfully leading product definition from ideation to go to market, having shipped at least one product after driving through the entire cycle and been involved in more than one at different stages.

Preferred qualifications:

• Excellence in product definition skills, from assessing markets and establishing customer segmentation to identifying opportunities and defining products to tackle them.
• Outstanding verbal and written communication skills.
• Experience managing distributed teams, growing talent and ensuring everyone loves being part of the team.
• Strong collaborator and influencer.
• Experience in cloud products for developers is a significant plus.
• Experience in applied search scenarios, such as web search, ecommerce, eDiscovery, knowledge mining, etc. is a plus.
• Background on information retrieval is a plus.

Cloud Background Screening Requirement: Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role.
