The Capacity & Resource Management (CRM) team plays a critical role in empowering sales, marketing, and delivery to drive customer experiences through strategy, planning, governance, change initiatives and controls to ensure exceptional outcomes throughout the business lifecycle. 

As a Delivery Resource Manager (RM), you will develop your relationship management capability working with international colleagues and being a key contributor to the profitability and customer satisfaction across Industry Solutions’ businesses. Your communication and organizational skills will be enhanced as you influence resourcing decisions like project staffing, resource pooling scenarios, mix optimization, and workforce planning and readiness.  

Working with the practice leaders and project teams within Industry Solutions Delivery (ISD), you will play a fundamental role in enabling them to staff and deliver a range of multimillion-dollar projects, with a direct impact on our customers.  

Some of your responsibilities will include: 

  • Partner with Resource Staffing Coordinators and/or directly fulfil staffing requests by engaging with Microsoft Architects, Consultants, or Project Managers. 
  • Ensure the right mix of internal/external resources are assigned to engagements in support of Microsoft's strategic use of onshore, offshore, nearshore, and partner delivery resource pools. 
  • Understand the skill disciplines as well as the strengths and skills of the Architects, Consultants, Project Managers within the skill disciplines to successfully staff engagements. 
  • Make sound staffing decisions and resolve conflicts within the Area with an aim on meeting, if not exceeding, internal and external customer satisfaction metrics as well as driving positive impact on staffing metrics and outcomes.  
  • Ensure customer satisfaction with the staffing of their engagements to achieve, if not exceed, utilization and bench targets across the business, while fulfilling all demand for consulting resources within defined service levels.  
  • Work with North America leaders in assessing individual resource’s skills and assist with developing readiness plans to increase the capability and capacity of the business to meet evolving customer demand. 
  • Maintain the data integrity of our request management system to include timely updates. 
  • Partner with your peer teams to centralize IP, knowledge sharing, and best practices to deliver consistent stakeholder experience and be efficient in landing deliverables. 
  • Resolve escalations in a timely manner and in alignment with desired business and customer outcomes and engagement delivery timelines. 
  • Prioritize customer outcomes that are at the center of deals and resourcing needs.  
  • Complete monthly scorecard reviews with Regional Delivery Resource Managers and actively discuss sales pipeline to maintain a pulse on upcoming resourcing requirements and strategize on how to shore up resourcing gaps. 
  • Conduct monthly informal reviews with internal customers to:  
    • Receive feedback. 
    • Identify opportunities for improvement. 
    • Build relationships and trust.  
    • Ensure alignment. 
  • Collaborate with Area Partner Strategists and Specialists to determine and provide the right resourcing options in alignment with the Account Strategists, while identifying opportunities and risks with our staffing solutions and ensuring compliance.

Your excellent planning, decision making and organizational skills, along with a proven ability to effectively perform in a fast-paced, constantly changing environment, will position you for success in this role. 

Required/Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Operations, Resource Management, Delivery, or related field AND 1+ year of work or internship experience in consulting, client/project management, or delivery.
    • OR equivalent experience.

Additional or Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Operations, Resource Management, Delivery, or related field AND 2+ years’ experience in consulting, client/project management, or delivery.
    • OR equivalent experience.

You will also be able to demonstrate:  

  • Extensive experience in a resource or delivery management role for an enterprise scale business. 
  • A background of working in a role that has an international remit. 
  • Experience dealing with a range of internal stakeholders, from senior level to technical staff. 
  • Knowledge of professional services concepts such as utilization, billable resource, and resource management tools (desirable). 

Location/Travel: You may be based anywhere in the United States, remotely working. You can expect limited travel, 0-25%, and is contingent upon Covid-19 restrictions.
