The Global Demand Center (GDC) is leading the marketing transformation of Microsoft’s largest and fastest growing commercial businesses. The Modern Work and Security Direct team is tasked with building world-class direct businesses to win share and grow revenue, partnering with teams across Microsoft.

We are looking to hire a Director to drive our strategy and execution across the Microsoft 365 direct business. You will be well aligned for this role if you desire strong accountability for business results and have demonstrated success in driving business growth and innovation. You should love immersing yourself in data and using your business understanding to see the story in a spreadsheet. You have a passion for people development and in fostering an environment where people can do their best work. You are also skilled at obtaining senior management alignment, framing complex business issues to drive decisions, developing plans to execute against these decisions, and working cross-team to ensure that plans are executed successfully.

As the Director for Microsoft 365 direct, you will lead the team with end-to-end responsibility for our revenue and seat growth aspirations. This requires astute leadership as well as day-to-day operational rigor that keenly drives towards current fiscal year revenue targets, optimizes the direct selling experience, cares deeply about our customers, and strengthens partnerships with key stakeholders.

• Team Leadership. Lead a team, demonstrating a commitment to model/coach/care to foster career growth and an environment where every team member feels as if they can show up each day as their authentic self and do their best work.

• Business Results. Run our operations rhythms across partner teams to develop our performance narrative and insights, what we should do differently, and what we are expecting moving forward.

• Channel Execution. Develop effective plans to grow our direct business, creating energy around our plan, and gaining broad consensus and approval. Informed by competitive and internal best practices and business insights, drive an innovation roadmap utilizing experimentation to test incremental improvements and step changes in our existing experience.

• Partner and Executive Relationships. Responsible building close partnerships across finance, engineering, data science, research, and marketing teams. Equally important is the ability to demonstrate an executive presence and maturity that allows you to establish and build productive working relationships with senior executives.

Required/Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Computer Science, Business or related field AND 6+ years experience in business
    • OR Master's Degree in Marketing, Computer Science, Business or related field AND 4+ years experience in business
    • OR equivalent experience.
  • 4+ years direct people management experience or indirect people management experience (or virtual teams).

Additional or Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Computer Science, Business or related field AND 12+ years experience in business
    • OR Master's Degree in Marketing, Computer Science, Business or related field AND 8+ years experience in busines
    • OR equivalent experience.
  • 6+ years people management experience.
  • Experience building and leading high performing teams
  • Ability to thrive in a dynamic, matrix environment, deal with ambiguity, and create clarity for people and teams.
  • Operational mindset with strong attention to detail and drive for results.
  • Analytical mindset and a data-driven approach to problem solving.
  • Proven track record of collaboration, influencing others and communicating with executive audiences.

Product Marketing M5 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $124,800 - $242,600 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $159,000 - $264,000 per year. Certain roles may be eligible for benefits and other compensation.
