As a Content Marketing & Search Engine Optimization (SEO) Manager, you will be responsible for creating content that ranks for popular unbranded keywords and identifying new search opportunities for our Windows, Surface, and Edge websites. You will work across various teams including Go To Market (GTM), Legal, Production, Strategy, Analytics, and Reporting to ensure successful content creation, review approval, launch, reporting, and insights. Additionally, you will partner with the Search Engine Marketing (SEM) team to uncover and pursue opportunities to expand our SEO efforts for Windows and Surface. 

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Develop and implement a content marketing strategy that focuses on SEO to increase education and consideration for our consumer brands, with a goal of increasing SEO traffic to key destinations, then driving engagement and conversion according to each brand’s goals.
  • Ensure that SEO and Content Marketing initiatives are driving impact through stated outcomes with clear Key Performance Indictator’s (KPI's); responsible for attaining and reporting on performance relative to those KPI’s.
  • Identify and lead the capabilities needed to advance SEO and Content Marketing for our next generation of platforms and tools.
  • Work collaboratively across key groups within Microsoft including GTM, Web, Legal, Web Production, Strategy, Analytics, and Reporting teams to ensure successful content creation, review approval, launch, reporting, and insights.
  • Create and optimize content (new content articles, infographics, and videos) that ranks for popular unbranded keywords.
  • Develop and maintain editorial calendars, content plans, and workflows that ensure content is produced on schedule and within budget.
  • Identify new search opportunities and incorporate them into the content strategy.
  • Partner with the SEM team to uncover and pursue opportunities for increased search engine visibility.
  • Analyze and report on content performance, providing actionable insights to improve future content strategy and execution.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends, best practices, and algorithm updates that impact search engine rankings and share them with the broader organization and key stakeholders. 

Required/Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, Economics, Public Relations, or related field AND 3+ years integrated marketing (e.g., digital, relationship, social media, campaign), event management, marketing strategy, business planning, marketing operations, or related work experience
    • OR equivalent experience.

Additional or Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, Economics, Public Relations, or related field AND 5+ years integrated marketing (e.g., digital, relationship, social media, campaign), event management, marketing strategy, business planning, marketing operations, content marketing with a focus on SEO and analytics or related experience
    • OR Master's Degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, Economics, Public Relations, or related field AND 2+ years integrated marketing (e.g., digital, relationship, social media, campaign), event management, marketing strategy, business planning, marketing operations, or related experience
    • OR equivalent experience.
  • Strong understanding of search engine optimization (SEO) best practices and how to apply them to content creation.
  • Experience with content management systems (CMS) including Adobe and SEO tools.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to create high-quality content.
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
  • Ability to work collaboratively across multiple teams and stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to analyze data and provide actionable insights. 

Integrated Marketing IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $101,200 - $194,800 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $130,000 - $213,200 per year.Learn more about base pay ranges and pay equity:
