Microsoft’s Cloud Operations & Innovation (CO+I) is the engine that powers our cloud services. As a CO+I Regional Datacenter Program Manager, you will perform a key role in delivering the core infrastructure and foundational technologies for Microsoft's online services including Bing, Office 365, Xbox, OneDrive, and the Microsoft Azure platform. This role may be based out of any datacenter campus in the EMEA Region.

Responsibilities

As a successful Regional DC Project Manager, your performance objectives include:

  • Create and maintain a program to identify best practices, design process and procedure documents, and socialize those across the EMEA Region. 
  • Support procurement of materials and services to support regional projects.
  • Onboarding of new Data Centers into internal tooling
  • Support financial setup of data centers and suppliers in new regions and onboarding into financial systems
  • Build and maintain a mobilization compliance program for new region data centers
  • Partner with IAM teams to ensure project alignment.
  • Create lessons learned documentation, best practices, and innovations on existing process/procedures and tools to improve efficiencies and productivity in new region deployments.
  • Utilize your knowledge to train, equip, and empower local teams to build and maintain data centers throughout their lifecycle.
  • Collaborate with other DC Ops Regions and global teams to align processes and procedures globally.
  • Create and manage end-to-end project plans and ensure on time delivery.
  • Empower a culture of safety, security, and compliance in all aspect of data center activities.  
  • Collaborate directly with site management and third-party vendors at new campuses and data centers to align best practices and deliver new regions quickly and reliably.
  • Perform day-to-day project check-in and update to manage project delivery and quality.  
  • Identify risks, gaps, and opportunities and communicate to stakeholders and other teams to drive resolution. 
  • Learn, live, and coach the One Microsoft culture and values. Lead through change by bringing clarity, generating energy, and delivering success.

Qualifications

Microsoft reviews all applications that meet the below Required Qualifications.

  • Strong experience in data center-related functions for large enterprise organizations.
  • Must have prior experience in coordinating large projects end-to-end.
  • Experience with onboarding new vendors and suppliers
  • Ability to travel up to 50% of the time. 

While not required, we also look for the following Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Engineering, Information Technology, Computer Science, or equivalent work experience in project or program management and/or large-scale networks
  • Experience delivering large network or other IT hardware projects.
  • Awareness of IT Service Operations fundamentals and principles. (ITIL, MOF, OLA/SLA, CSI, etc.)
  • Project or program management certifications (e.g. PMI, etc.)

Background Check Requirements: 

Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: 

  • Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
