Microsoft Cloud Operations + Innovation (CO+I) is the engine that powers Microsoft's cloud services. The group is responsible for designing, building, and operating Microsoft’s global datacenters; managing the programmatic delivery of our critical infrastructure design, equipment procurement, construction delivery, infrastructure innovation, demand planning and capacity utilization of our unified infrastructure; and responsible for all operations needed to run the physical infrastructure. We focus on smart growth with an emphasis on automation, data-driven engineering, cost‐effectiveness, and environmental sustainability. We deliver the core infrastructure and foundational technologies for Microsoft's 200+ online businesses including Azure, Office 365, Bing, Xbox Live, Skype, and OneDrive.  Our portfolio is built and managed by a team of subject matter experts working 24x7x365 to support services for more than 1 billion customers and 20 million businesses in over 90 countries worldwide.

The CO+I Office of the Chief Technology Officer (CTO) executive office is responsible for delivering solutions technical strategy, developing and leverage research, innovation and defining next generation capabilities – telemetry by design. To accomplish this the team must utilize data from every aspect of our business. 

We are looking for an experienced Business Program Manager to help meet that demand. This person should be looking for insights in data that can turn into actionable and measurable outcomes. Strong analytical skills, using data to design processes that scale, effective collaboration across internal and external users, and the drive to continuously improve and achieve business objectives will be critical to success in this role.

As a Business Program Manager you will be responsible for:

  • Driving operational excellence, support strategy and planning across the organization.
  • Tracking projects, creating purchasing process and templates for the team.
  • Identifying tools and processes and eliminate low value tasks, align multiple rhythms, consolidate required inputs into reduced deliverables with commonality.
  • Driving continuous improvement in business process and tools to enable the rapid growth and scale.
  • Building, develop and maintain highly collaborative and effective working relationships with key stakeholders to facilitate proactive planning and flawless execution against our business objectives.
  • Managing the team's Opex and discretionary spend with finance to ensure effective budget management.
  • Identifying, evaluate, and implement knowledge management tools and sites to ensure effective cultivating, maintaining and sharing of team knowledge.
  • Supporting and execute rhythm of the business activities; includes overall cadence, preparation of materials and presenters, and post-event surveys and feedback for all-hands, business reviews, newsletters, yammer, manage sharepoint sites and Teams, offsites, etc.
  • Creating, support and implement a culture to help make CTO the best place to work
  • Building on and/or maintain sharepoint site, Teams, communication and lead v-team for efforts around culture, employee signal etc.
  • Effectively and regularly track, manage and communicate CO+I related program status, risks, dependencies, schedules and milestones to leadership teams
  • Driving operational excellence, support strategy and planning across the organization
  • Managing and build out reporting/tooling for our engineers to be able to track projects, capex, headcount etc.
  • Developing business process requirements documentation (flowcharts, process diagrams etc.)
  • Providing regular updates to stakeholders

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Operations, Finance or related field AND 4+ years work experience in program management, process management, process improvement
    • OR equivalent experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 2+ years program management or business management in a technology (or comparable) organization
  • Proactiveness and a strong positive outlook and approach to change management
  • Program/Project Management experience with the ability to deal with ambiguity associated with working in a fast paced and changing environment
  • Demonstrated excellence and experience in managing financial Profit & Losses (P&L) and all aspects of the budget planning
  • Be able to work under pressure and deadlines, with ability to manage complexity while driving clarity
  • Ability to work effectively throughout the organization and proven record for execution with measurable results
  • Proven effectiveness driving complex multi-stakeholder planning processes, driving cross-team programs to desired results
  • Ability to work in a flexible, fast-paced environment

Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to, the following specialized security screenings: Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Business Program Management IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $91,800 - $178,800 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $117,900 - $195,000 per year.Learn more about base pay ranges and pay equity: https://careers.microsoft.com/us/en/us-corporate-pay
